Refusing to call Mary the Mother of God (Theotokos) was explicitly condemned as a heresy at the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD. Jesus Christ is ONE divine person with two natures (human and divine). Mary gave birth to a Person, not just a nature. Saying Mary is only the mother of Jesus' human nature logically splits Christ into two separate persons, destroying the saving mystery of the Incarnation.
Ancient Hebrew and Aramaic had no specific word for 'cousin' or 'nephew', so the word 'brother' (translated to 'adelphoi' in Greek) was used for all close relatives. By cross-referencing Matthew 27:56 and Mark 15:40, we see that the 'James and Joseph' mentioned as Jesus' brothers were actually the sons of another Mary, the wife of Clopas and sister-in-law to the Blessed Virgin.
In Matthew 6:7, Jesus warns against 'battalogeo', a Greek term referring to mindless, babbling pagan incantations where pagans thought long magic spells coerced their gods. Catholic Church teaching explicitly affirms that Mary was saved by Jesus Christ! The key is HOW she was saved. In the Old Testament Davidic Kingdom, the King had many wives, so the Queen was not the King's wife: it was the King's Mother (the 'Gebirah', 1 Kings 2:19).
